Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Goodwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Coco Nutz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nutz is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Afrika Bambaataa - Feel The Wibe. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Goodwell as Nutz shoots in.
Nutz tries for a takedown but Goodwell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Nutz throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Nutz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Goodwell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Nutz pulls Goodwell into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Goodwell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Goodwell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Nutz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nutz passes to side control.

Nutz tries to score with some ground and pound. Goodwell controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goodwell is pressing down on Nutz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Nutz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goodwell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nutz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Goodwell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nutz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nutz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Goodwell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Nutz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Goodwell kicks off Nutz and gets to his feet.
Nutz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Goodwell pinned against the cage. Goodwell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nutz shoots in looking for a takedown. Goodwell tries to sprawl out of it but Nutz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Goodwell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are battling for position here. Goodwell manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Goodwell has hold of Nutz's hands but Nutz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Horrible takedown by Nutz or perhaps it was just good defense by Goodwell which made him look bad.
Nutz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Coco Nutz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goodwell looks to clinch

and Nutz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Nutz stops Goodwell from getting back to his feet.
Nutz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Goodwell!

Nutz wants to finish this one by submission but Goodwell is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Nutz.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nutz prevents Goodwell from getting the reversal.
You get the feeling that Goodwell really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Nutz with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
