Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rossi stuffs the takedown.
Rossi scores with a nice head shot.
Pope swings away with a leg kick that misses.

and Pope connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rossi tries to clinch there but Pope circles away.
Nice uppercut there from Rossi.

It looks like Karl Pope has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pope manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rossi on his heels. He'll look to pass Rossi's guard now, I'm sure.

Rossi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pope. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pope has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Rossi defend it? Pope steps over the head and cranks it - Rossi is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Pope!
