Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adriano Da Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muniek Ziomek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Adriano Da Costa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Muniek Ziomek!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ziomek wants to break free but Da Costa has control.
Ziomek blocks an elbow strike from Da Costa.
Ziomek jumps guard but Da Costa turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Ziomek throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Da Costa blocks it with crossed arms.

Ziomek is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Da Costa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ziomek goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Da Costa rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ziomek's guard! Nice work there by Da Costa!

Ziomek shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Da Costa is trying to defend but Ziomek finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

A close round but Muniek Ziomek will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ziomek blocks a head kick by Da Costa.
Ziomek fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Da Costa avoids it really well and circles away.
Da Costa fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ziomek has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Ziomek is trying hard to land a takedown here. Da Costa sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Da Costa connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ziomek. Ziomek circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Da Costa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ziomek circles away quickly and effectively.

Da Costa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ziomek's guard.

Ziomek is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ziomek is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Da Costa defends well.

Ziomek is struggling to control the position.
Ziomek changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Da Costa fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ziomek closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ziomek lands in his opponent's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

It looks like Muniek Ziomek has been cut.

Da Costa pushes Ziomek up against the ropes in a clinch.
Da Costa avoids a wild elbow strike from Ziomek.
Da Costa prevents Ziomek from breaking the clinch.
Ziomek jumps guard but Da Costa stands there with Ziomek around his waist. Ziomek gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Da Costa struggles to land a body shot inside as Ziomek controls his hands.
Ziomek throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Ziomek misses with an elbow over the top.
Ziomek jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Da Costa walks away with a smile on his face. Ziomek gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ziomek takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Da Costa looks to land a combination but Ziomek avoids it well.

and Ziomek counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ziomek.
Da Costa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ziomek is one step ahead there.
Da Costa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ziomek pushes down on Da Costa's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Ziomek wants to work for an arm triangle but Da Costa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ziomek looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Da Costa regains full guard. Nicely done.

Ziomek is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Da Costa is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Da Costa has escaped and now he's on top!
Da Costa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee warns Ziomek that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Adriano Da Costa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Da Costa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
