The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grigorev shoots in looking for a takedown but Equinox manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Grigorev's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Grigorev looks for a takedown but Equinox sprawls well.
Grigorev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Equinox sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Grigorev somewhat.
John Equinox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicolai Grigorev.

Equinox drops Grigorev with a beautiful combination! Grigorev stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Equinox is looking for the KO!

It looks like Nicolai Grigorev has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grigorev is defended easily by Equinox.
Equinox defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Grigorev.
Grigorev shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Equinox counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Equinox tries to clinch but Grigorev moves out of range.
Grigorev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Equinox pinned against the cage. Equinox gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Grigorev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Equinox scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Grigorev doesn't seem bothered though.
Equinox moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Equinox throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Equinox tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Grigorev paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Equinox will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Grigorev looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Equinox darts in and clinches Grigorev up against the cage.
Equinox is pressed up against the cage. Grigorev has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Equinox down to the mat. Equinox avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Equinox lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Grigorev is rocked!
Nicolai Grigorev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Equinox is looking to clinch but Grigorev is avoiding it.
Grigorev is still on wobbly legs! Can Equinox finish him?
Grigorev gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Equinox gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Grigorev is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
