Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bart Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bart Boyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scott King!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyle shoots in for a double leg but King sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Boyle has closed the distance and engaged King in a clinch.
King displaying some good clinch control by pressing Boyle up against the cage.

King manages to break the clinch.
Boyle takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
King cracks Boyle with a good jab.
King paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Boyle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
King wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
King cracks a nice hook into Boyle's ribs.
King lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
King works the jab nicely.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King connects with a right hand. Boyle shakes it off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King leaves Boyle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bart Boyle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

King scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Boyle manages to work his way to half guard, despite King's best efforts.
King trying to control the pace.
King throwing shots but Boyle is blocking nicely.
King frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
King looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Boyle is in a horrible position here. King smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Boyle tries to hold on but King postures up.

King goes for an armbar but Boyle turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Boyle.
King pulls Boyle in close to prevent any damage.

King looking for a guillotine here but Boyle defends easily.

Boyle wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.
King has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
King is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Boyle is controlling him.
Boyle working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boyle wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Boyle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has King pinned against the cage. King gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Scott King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Boyle fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
King tests Boyle's chin there with a solid looking shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King misses with the combination.
King lands a right hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott King dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Boyle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around King's waist but King gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Boyle off to one side.

and King counters with a nice uppercut.
King defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Boyle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bart Boyle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King thuds his right hand into Boyle's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

King scores with a takedown into Boyle's guard.
King throws an elbow that misses. Boyle uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in King's guard. Nice move by Boyle!

Boyle is fighting to break King's control of his arms but King is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Scott King has got the better of the ground game so far.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Bart Boyle has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
King lands with a nice combination. Boyle backs away looking to recover.
Boyle tries to clinch there but King circles away.
King uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Boyle has time to react.
A punch lands to the side of Boyle 's head but he takes it in his stride.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Boyle. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Boyle checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Boyle takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
King cracks Boyle with a good jab.
Some bone on bone action there as Boyle checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Boyle gets cracked with a nice right hand there by King.
King throws a sloppy head kick and Boyle moves out of range easily.
Scott King seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nice straight punches there by King. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of King.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Boyle gets full guard.
King is looking to work some ground and pound but Boyle has wrist control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
King stands up over Boyle, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
King trying to control but Boyle is working from the bottom.
King makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

King content to stall in guard here.
King lands a couple of digs.

King wants to control from the top but Boyle keeps moving.
King slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
King connects with a couple of short punches.

King cracks Boyle with a solid left hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Boyle keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully.
Boyle is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
King keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Boyle gets caught flat footed, as King shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Boyle doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
King has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Boyle preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
King distracts Boyle with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
King trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
King chips away with some ground and pound.
King seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Boyle is trying to control the position but King postures up.
King postures up in Boyle's guard and throws a big left but Boyle blocks it.

King gets to his feet - Boyle follows without any prompting.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
King swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Boyle.
Boyle is trying hard to land a takedown here. King sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
King throws a body kick that misses.
Boyle is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
King keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bart Boyle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Boyle keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Boyle gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and King counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Boyle thinking.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bart Boyle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King pivots, looking for a leg kick but Boyle is out of range and King settles back down.
King lands a jab to the head.

Boyle gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows King to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Scott King.
King throws a series of strikes that have Boyle backpedaling.
King throws a right and a left that Boyle avoids nicely.
Boyle takes one to the chin there.
King cracks Boyle with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
King lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Boyle backs up against the cage.
Donk. King catches Boyle right on the button with a cross.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Danga de danga de dang - King scores with a four punch combination!
King scores with a jab. Boyle acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

King looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
King not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Boyle blocking the ground and pound attempt from King.
King is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Bart Boyle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
King is nestled in close to Boyle, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Boyle has hold of King's hands but King slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Scott King is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
King is nestled in close to Boyle, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Scott King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
