PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Romo Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Khasm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khasm has chosen Kickstart My Heart as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Romo Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Khasm!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Khasm which made him look bad.
Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Khasm tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Khasm to the ground. Khasm escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Khasm missing with a left hand there. Diaz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Khasm looking to score a takedown here. Diaz is defending well but Khasm drives through and ends up in Diaz's guard.
Khasm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Diaz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Diaz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Diaz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Khasm trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Khasm postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Khasm stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Diaz working for a triangle but Khasm defends it easily.
Khasm missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Khasm is looking to work some ground and pound but Diaz has wrist control.
Khasm is in close to Diaz's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Khasm got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Khasm has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.
Khasm is looking to work some ground and pound but Diaz has wrist control.
Khasm connects with a couple of short punches.
Khasm is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Diaz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diaz is looking to sinch up a triangle. Khasm throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Diaz's body to avoid the submission. Diaz has instead reached around Khasm's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Diaz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

A relieved looking Romo Diaz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
