Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Staton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uncle Dad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staton checks a low kick from Dad.
Staton throws a hook but Dad avoids it easily.

Dad has managed to clinch.
Dad tries to work over Staton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Staton could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dad missing with knees to the body.
Staton wants to get back to striking at distance but Dad won't allow it.
Staton wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dad has him pressed against the cage.
Dad lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Staton is trying to break the clinch but Dad has him pressed against the cage.
Dad is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dad goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dad throws a solid leg kick but Staton takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Dad.
Staton looks to land a combination but Dad avoids it well.
Staton swings for the body but Dad moves out of range.
Jeremy Staton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Staton jabs Dad right on the nose. Dad blinks but takes it well.

Dad tries to close the distance and clinch up but Staton swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Dad will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Staton up against the cage.

Staton wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Staton has had enough of the clinch but Dad keeps him there for the moment.
Dad swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Staton tries to break the clinch but Dad is controlling the position.
Dad keeps control of Staton as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Staton's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Dad misses with a punch to the body.
Dad tries to throw a body punch but Staton avoids it by throwing Dad back against the cage.

Dad has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Staton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Staton tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Staton keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Staton slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Staton manages to get to full guard.

Staton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Staton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dad throwing strikes but missing.
Dad postures up in Staton's guard and throws a big left but Staton blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Staton keeping moving, preventing Dad from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Staton has his foot on Dad's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dad works his way back into a safe position though.

Staton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Staton is breathing heavily.

Staton had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dad is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Staton Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dad's back instead.

Staton is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Dad is defending well though. Staton let's go of the attempt for now.
Dad turns into Staton and is now in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Staton stuffs the takedown.

Dad shoots in for a takedown but Staton shows good takedown defense.
A choreographed right hand from Staton misses the target.
Dad steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Staton.
A clash of legs there as Staton blocks the low kick.
Dad throws a front kick aimed at Staton's knee but Staton avoids it well.
Staton circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dad moves out of range of the strikes.
Dad scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Staton throws the left hand but Dad avoids the punch easily.
Dad misses with a low kick.
Staton is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Staton's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Staton moves forwards but Dad connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Staton slow jab from Dad misses its intended target.
Dad slips a straight right by Staton.
Staton is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Staton misses with an uppercut. Dad saw that one coming.
Dad tries to bum rush Staton with a series of wild strikes but Staton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Staton swats away the attempt to clinch by Dad.

Dad feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Staton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dad advances to half guard.
Staton trying to hold on to Dad's head to control him but Dad postures up.
Dad throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Staton regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Dad.

Staton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Staton is trying to control the position but Dad postures up.

Staton pushes a forearm under Dad's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Dad is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
