PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Builder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Brasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Builder comes to the cage accompanied by The Bob Builder theme song. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Builder tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Builder shoots in and bounces Brasky off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Brasky is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Builder is working Brasky over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Brasky looking for a sweep. Not yet Brasky, not yet.
Builder is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Brasky has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Builder can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Brasky working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Builder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Builder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Brasky looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Builder is looking to improve his position.
Brasky trying to pass the guard but Builder defending well.
Builder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brasky is working away from the top position though.
Builder lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Brasky tries to stand but can't do so whilst Builder controls his leg.
Builder manages to get to full guard.

Brasky wants to pass the guard but Builder is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brasky is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Builder tries to close the distance and clinch but Brasky swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Brasky works over Builder's head and body with a nice combination.
Horrible takedown by Builder or perhaps it was just good defense by Brasky which made him look bad.
Brasky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Builder.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Brasky counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Brasky wants to lay and pray for a moment but Builder keeps working.
Brasky wants to free his trapped foot but Builder is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Brasky is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brasky landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bill Brasky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Builder falls off balance throwing a combination

so Brasky counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Builder has his foot on Brasky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brasky works his way back into a safe position though.

Brasky drops back, looking for a kneebar! Builder looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Builder looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Builder!
Brasky is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Builder off and has taken his back!
Brasky is trying to stick to Builder's back but Builder is turning into Brasky. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Brasky's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Builder.

Builder thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Brasky is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Builder's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Builder's back!

Well Brasky has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
