PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Tap Or Snap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mack kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ships in the night-Mat Kearney. Jack Mack has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Mack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Tap Or Snap!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tap Or Snap takes the fight into the clinch.

Mack has hold of one of Tap Or Snap's legs. Tap Or Snap is fighting the takedown attempt but Mack gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Mack postures up in Tap Or Snap's guard and throws a big left but Tap Or Snap blocks it.
Tap Or Snap keeping full guard, as Mack tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tap Or Snap not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Tap Or Snap working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mack doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mack manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tap Or Snap had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mack defends it easily.
Tap Or Snap utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Tap Or Snap wants to sweep but no luck.
Mack controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Tap Or Snap looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tap Or Snap preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Mack connects with a couple of short punches.
Mack throws a big right hand that misses.
Mack throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Tap Or Snap keeping moving, preventing Mack from controlling successfully.
Mack forces his way into half guard.
Mack throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mack sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tap Or Snap defending well though.
Mack lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Mack not doing much here.

Mack wants to take a breather but Tap Or Snap is having none of it.
Tap Or Snap won't allow Mack to pass to mount.
Tap Or Snap is pressing down on Mack's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Tap Or Snap looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Mack engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Jack Mack has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Tap Or Snap takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Tap Or Snap tries to close the distance and clinch but Mack swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A solid leg kick lands there for Mack.
Tap Or Snap tries to clinch
and Mack counters with a one-two to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mack rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tap Or Snap moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Some wild striking there from Mack.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Mack dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Tap Or Snap fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mack checks it well.
Tap Or Snap is looking to clinch.
Mack throws a right and a left that Tap Or Snap avoids nicely.

Mack shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tap Or Snap is trying to defend but Mack finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Mack looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Tap Or Snap actively working from the bottom here.

Tap Or Snap is pressing down on Mack's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mack's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Mack wants to control from the top but Tap Or Snap keeps moving.
Tap Or Snap looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Mack slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Mack advances position into side control!
Tap Or Snap takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Mack is putting a hurting on Tap Or Snap here, landing some big shots from side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mack has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Tap Or Snap is bucking up trying to escape but Mack cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Tap Or Snap is squirming around, avoiding Mack's attempts to control the action.

Mack is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tap Or Snap can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jack Mack overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mack scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Tap Or Snap?

Mack breaks from Tap Or Snap's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Mack prevents Tap Or Snap from getting the reversal.
Mack pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tap Or Snap really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Mack dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Mack lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mack misses with a kick to the body.
Tap Or Snap fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jack Mack is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mack has managed to clinch.
Mack tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Tap Or Snap has Mack pushed against the cage.
Mack has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Mack wants the takedown. Tap Or Snap is fighting it off but Mack persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tap Or Snap's guard against the cage.

Tap Or Snap looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tap Or Snap is on top in guard.
Tap Or Snap trying to control the position from guard on top but Mack is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mack not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Tap Or Snap wants to control from the top but Mack keeps moving.
Tap Or Snap throws a big right hand that misses.
Mack controls Tap Or Snap momentarily but Tap Or Snap frees himself.
Tap Or Snap connects with a couple of short punches.
Tap Or Snap stopping the sweep attempt from Mack.
Mack looking to control.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Mack.
Tap Or Snap keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Mack throws a push kick but Tap Or Snap slaps the foot to one side.
Mack stalks Tap Or Snap and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tap Or Snap's face. Tap Or Snap staggers backwards, shaken.

Mack shoots in and gets a takedown into Tap Or Snap's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mack trying to control but Tap Or Snap is working from the bottom.
Tap Or Snap preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mack in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mack accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mack looking to pass the guard.
Mack wants to stand but Tap Or Snap is controlling his posture from full guard.
Mack stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tap Or Snap swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mack is looking to stand up but Tap Or Snap won't let him.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Mack wants to control from the top but Tap Or Snap keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jack Mack just wasn't active enough.
Tap Or Snap tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mack manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jack Mack is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mack throws a series of punches but Tap Or Snap avoids them all with ease.
Mack swats away the attempt to clinch by Tap Or Snap.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Mack showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Mack has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
