PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Boisson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morrison comes into the arena with Metalingus blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that John Morrison has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Morrison seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Morrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Boisson!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boisson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Morrison was well out of range. Poor timing from Boisson.

Boisson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Morrison tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Boisson is in Morrison's guard.
Boisson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Boisson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morrison swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Morrison looking for a guillotine here but Boisson defends easily.
Morrison is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Morrison is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Morrison throwing shots but Boisson is blocking nicely.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Boisson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Morrison drops an elbow to the side of Boisson's head.
Morrison thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Boisson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Morrison's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Morrison's back!
Boisson is trying to stick to Morrison's back but Morrison is turning into Boisson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Boisson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Morrison.

Morrison tries to free his leg and advance position but Boisson is retaining full guard.

Morrison has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Morrison wants to control from the top but Boisson keeps moving.
Morrison throws a strike but Boisson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Boisson won't allow Morrison to sweep him here.

Morrison pushes a forearm under Boisson's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Boisson is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
