The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messi dodges the punch combination from Moniko.

Moniko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Messi shoots in for a takedown but Moniko shows good takedown defense.
Messi with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Moniko to score with a decent uppercut.
Moniko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Messi.

Moniko rushes Messi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Messi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Moniko sprawls well. Moniko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Messi gets slowly back to his feet.
