The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jacobs.
Jacobs with a jab.
Jacobs shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hansen eats them both and turns towards Jacobs to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jacobs as he jumps to the side.
Jacobs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hansen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jacobs under the eye.
Jacobs shoots in looking for a takedown but Hansen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jacobs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hansen lands with a kick to the temple. Jacobs shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hansen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hansen misses with a takedown attempt - Jacobs sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Hansen misses the target.
Jacobs steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Hansen. That one must have hurt.
Jacobs throws a half hearted mid kick.

Jacobs throws a right and a left that Hansen avoids nicely.

Hansen drives through with a takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jacobs holds on and takes a little breather.
Hansen wants to control from the top but Jacobs keeps moving.
Hansen lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hansen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

He's locked it up tight! Hansen's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Jacobs picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
