The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saaki misses with a lunging right hand
and Saaki takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Brasco connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Saaki momentarily.
Brasco is looking to clinch.

Saaki clinches with his opponent.
Brasco trying to control the position but instead, Saaki has worked for underhooks and has pushed Brasco into the cage.

Saaki gets a trip takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Brasco looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Brasco pushes Saaki off looking to stand but Saaki dives back in and keeps control.
Saaki is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Brasco!
Brasco wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Saaki landing strikes from the mount.
Brasco knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saaki on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Saaki has control of Brasco's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Brasco regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Saaki takes Brasco's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Brasco is in trouble.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Saaki working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Brasco is doing well to defend. Saaki seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Brasco is forced to tap and this one is over!

After the fight, Jim Saaki was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
