Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Ivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Capwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivey's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Friday. Capwell has chosen The Haunted - 99 as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Ivey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mason Capwell!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capwell lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ivey steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Capwell.
Capwell misses with an uppercut. Ivey saw that one coming.
Ivey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Capwell moves away.
Capwell tests Ivey's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ivey loads up on a big right hand but Capwell slips the punch.
Ivey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ivey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Capwell manages to avoid it.
Phil Ivey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Capwell drives through with a takedown into Ivey's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Capwell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ivey looking to hit a scissor sweep but Capwell is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Capwell throwing strikes from guard but Ivey blocks nicely.
Ivey is trying to keep Capwell in close.
Capwell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Capwell postures up in Ivey's guard and throws a big left but Ivey blocks it.
Ivey tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Capwell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Capwell wants to pass the guard but Ivey is keeping the position.
Capwell passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Capwell throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Capwell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ivey with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Capwell winds up and cracks Ivey with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Capwell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Capwell is pressing down on Ivey's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ivey is holding on for now.
Capwell sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ivey defending well though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Capwell is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Capwell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ivey with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ivey avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Capwell.
Ivey is positioning himself well to prevent Capwell advancing to mount.
Capwell throwing shots but Ivey is blocking nicely.
Capwell uses his free foot to push down on Ivey's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ivey.
Capwell looking to finish with strikes here!

Capwell working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Ivey wants to hold on but Capwell pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ivey tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Capwell lands a big shot there that rocks Ivey but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ivey bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Ivey has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Capwell to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Ivey is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Capwell pulls down on the head and he's put Ivey to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mason Capwell!
A relieved looking Mason Capwell thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
