PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dith Pran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Kamenski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dith Pran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Kamenski!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pran fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kamenski sprawls well initially but Pran persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Pran seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kamenski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pran passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kamenski!
Pran pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Pran get's back to his feet.
Pran changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kamenski tries to avoid it but Pran manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kamenski to the ground. Kamenski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pran tries for a takedown but Kamenski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kamenski stuffs the takedown attempt from Pran. Pran gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dith Pran. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kamenski looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pran!

Pran is trying to escape the mount.

Kamenski blocks Pran's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Pran regains half guard.
Pran wants to get back to full guard.
Pran is trying to control but can't.
Pran gets back to full guard.
Pran wants to get back to his feet but Kamenski is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pran manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kamenski manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pran decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pran shoots and misses

and Kamenski counters by clinching up.
Pran tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Pran tries to pull guard but Kamenski holds him up against the cage and eventually Pran drops back down to his feet.
Pran doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kamenski connects with a nasty looking knee right to Pran's face.
Pran misses with a short punch on the inside.

Oh Pran is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kamenski prevents the takedown attempt.
Pran seems to have got his legs back now.

Pran has Kamenski pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kamenski manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kamenski is pressed up against the cage. Pran has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kamenski down to the mat. Kamenski avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Pran shoots for a double leg takedown but Kamenski sprawls well. He's pushed Pran's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pran shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kamenski pinned against the cage. Kamenski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kamenski can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dith Pran dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kamenski moves out of range of the body kick.
Pran throws a push kick but Kamenski slaps the foot to one side.
Dith Pran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kamenski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pran with a poor takedown

and Kamenski counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pran's guard now.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pran is on top in guard.
Dith Pran overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Pran is looking to work some ground and pound but Kamenski has wrist control.
Kamenski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pran controls the pace.
Pran passes into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pran frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pran looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Kamenski tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Pran swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kamenski is now in Pran's guard. A big mistake from Pran there, giving up the dominant position!

Kamenski gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Kamenski looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pran moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Kamenski distracts Pran with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Pran looking for a triangle here. Kamenski is fighting it but it looks tight! Pran pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kamenski is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Dith Pran!
