Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dayne Mcdougall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Langdown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dayne Mcdougall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stephen Langdown!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Langdown darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mcdougall is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Langdown scores with a couple of nice shots.
Langdown lands strikes from half guard.
Langdown wants to control but Mcdougall is keeping him busy.
Mcdougall moves into full guard.
Langdown passes Mcdougall's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Langdown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mcdougall is looking to improve his position.
Langdown takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mcdougall is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Langdown defends well.

Mcdougall has hold of Langdown's hands but Langdown slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Mcdougall wants to improve his position but Langdown is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Langdown connects with a nice short shot to Mcdougall's temple.
Langdown is keen to just control but Mcdougall is a slippery customer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mcdougall wants to get back to his feet.
Mcdougall is pressing down on Langdown's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Mcdougall pushes Langdown off and scrambles back to his feet.
Langdown shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcdougall tries to sprawl out of it but Langdown keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcdougall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Langdown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mcdougall as he avoids it easily.
Dayne Mcdougall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Langdown.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Langdown.

Mcdougall moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Mcdougall lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Langdown circles away quickly and effectively.
Langdown closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Stephen Langdown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Langdown fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mcdougall, pushing him back against the cage.
Mcdougall is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Langdown is looking to take a break and control but Mcdougall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mcdougall tries to kick Langdown off but Langdown keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Mcdougall wants to improve his position but Langdown is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Langdown fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mcdougall avoids it really well and circles away.

and Mcdougall counters with a series of strikes. Langdown will be more careful next time no doubt.
Mcdougall lands with a nice combination. Langdown backs away looking to recover.
Langdown tries to bum rush Mcdougall with a series of wild strikes but Mcdougall uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Stephen Langdown is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mcdougall fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Langdown shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcdougall sprawls well. Mcdougall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Langdown gets slowly back to his feet.
Langdown shoots for a double leg takedown but Mcdougall sprawls well. He's pushed Langdown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dayne Mcdougall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Langdown.

Stephen Langdown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Langdown shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mcdougall manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Langdown decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mcdougall, up you get!

Langdown fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Langdown closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Langdown throws a head kick that misses.
Langdown takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Langdown stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mcdougall.
Langdown shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mcdougall pinned against the cage. Mcdougall gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Langdown lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Langdown.
Langdown fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mcdougall avoids it really well and circles away.
Stephen Langdown is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Mcdougall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Langdown sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcdougall somewhat.

Langdown shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mcdougall but Mcdougall pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Langdown takes one on the button.
Langdown needs to keep his hands up - Mcdougall had a free shot at his head there.

Stephen Langdown comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Langdown winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
