Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Gianan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Bergstrand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Bergstrand has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gianan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gianan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gianan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Gianan stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Chris Bergstrand seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gianan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Gianan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Bergstrand!

Bergstrand tries to improve his position but instead Gianan has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bergstrand rolls, trying to escape but Gianan keeps control of the position.
Gianan controlling the position well here. Bergstrand rolled but Gianan kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Gianan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bergstrand for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gianan shoots in looking for a takedown. Bergstrand tries to sprawl out of it but Gianan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bergstrand manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gianan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bergstrand's guard.

Gianan uses his free foot to push down on Bergstrand's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bergstrand.

Bergstrand is trying to reverse the position but instead Gianan has taken his back - oops!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bergstrand manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gianan's guard. Nice work there by Bergstrand.

Bergstrand might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gianan kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Gianan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerome Gianan dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Gianan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bergstrand pinned against the cage. Bergstrand gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gianan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bergstrand's waist but Bergstrand gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gianan off to one side.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gianan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerome Gianan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Bergstrand. No joy for Gianan on that attempt.

Gianan looks for a takedown but Bergstrand sprawls well.

Gianan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Gianan has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Bergstrand!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gianan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
