Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Izzy Stradlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Lyger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lyger is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Holy Diver. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Izzy Stradlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Lyger!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stradlin fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Stradlin tries to sprawl but Lyger drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lyger trying to mount his opponent but Stradlin defends it.
Lyger is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lyger is trying to control the action in half guard but Stradlin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lyger trying to work for an americana but Stradlin has managed to regain full guard.

Stradlin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stradlin tries to get out of the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lyger connects with a nice short shot to Stradlin's temple.

Stradlin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lyger gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James Lyger dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Lyger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Stradlin parries the strikes from Lyger easily there. Lyger is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stradlin to escape.

James Lyger has got the better of the ground game so far.

Well, if Lyger is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
