The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues lands a head kick. Sonoda smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Yuki Sonoda has been cut.
A nice leg kick lands there from Rodrigues.
Sonoda shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rodrigues pinned against the cage. Rodrigues gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rodrigues slaps away a takedown attempt from Sonoda, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rodrigues scores with a head kick. Sonoda tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rodrigues lands a nice looking body kick.
Whack! Rodrigues lands a heavy head kick that drops Sonoda. The ref tackles Rodrigues to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Sonoda was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Severino Rodrigues!
A relieved looking Severino Rodrigues thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
