The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rua.
Rua bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Batista's head backwards.
It looks like Diego Batista has been cut.
A jab lands there for Rua.
Batista throws a lazy right hand but Rua sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rua lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Batista tries to clinch but Rua moves away
and Rua scores with a counter punch that sends Batista to the canvas! Rua smells blood - he's punishing Batista with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Batista has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anderson Rua!
