The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ariffin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ariffin looks to clinch

and Bashor counters with a single leg into guard. Ariffin didn't expect that.

Bashor slips nicely into half guard.
Bashor looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ariffin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bashor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ariffin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bashor scores with a couple of nice shots.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bashor in particular looking to stall.
