PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chong Zhu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Going Nutz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zhu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Meet Gazoo. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chong Zhu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Going Nutz!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhu tries to clinch up but Nutz circles away and keeps his distance.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Zhu.
Chong Zhu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nutz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zhu but Zhu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Zhu plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Zhu gets caught napping as Nutz dives in and scores a takedown. Zhu manages to retain guard.
Zhu wants to get back to his feet but Nutz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Nutz has gone for a leg lock! Zhu slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nutz's guard.

Nutz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nutz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Zhu is aware though and is defending well.

Zhu is really struggling to control Nutz but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Zhu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nutz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Zhu has managed to get both his arms back between Nutz's legs - danger averted.

Zhu is trying to control. Nutz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Zhu frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Nutz sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Going Nutz will probably get the nod.
That's time! Zhu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Zhu pushes Nutz away with a front kick.
Zhu moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Zhu fails in his attempt to clinch.
Zhu lands a head kick. Nutz smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Zhu lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Zhu connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nutz momentarily.
Zhu lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nutz will feel that in the morning.

Zhu lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zhu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nutz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Zhu moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Nutz shoots for a double leg takedown but Zhu sprawls well. He's pushed Nutz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Zhu pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nutz back to the cage. Zhu follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Chong Zhu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zhu lands a body shot.
Zhu lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Zhu throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Zhu jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Zhu scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Zhu's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Zhu duly obliges.
Nutz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Zhu lands with a thumping leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nutz is breathing heavily.
Nutz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Zhu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Nutz has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Zhu.
Chong Zhu is winning the standup battle so far.
Nutz shoots in and drives through. Zhu sprawls well.
Zhu lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Nutz is rocked!
Zhu lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Nutz out cold! Nutz is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
