PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Pazur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Prophet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Prophet's choice of entrance music: Kamikaze Kush- Nothing To Lose. Tom Pazur had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Pazur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mason Prophet!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Prophet, as that shot connected.

Pazur changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Prophet looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Prophet manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pazur in particular looking to stall.

Pazur is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Prophet is trying to maintain the position but Pazur is very close to passing his half guard.

Prophet looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Prophet avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pazur.
Prophet wants to control but Pazur is keeping busy.
Prophet might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pazur kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Pazur passes the guard and advances to mount!

Prophet is desperately trying to improve his position but Pazur has a good base and remains in mount.
Prophet gets back to half guard.
Pazur wants to take a breather but Prophet is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pazur is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Pazur works his way into full mount!
Prophet bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Pazur is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Prophet is aware though and is defending well.
Prophet wants to control from the top but Pazur keeps moving.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Prophet postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pazur is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Prophet, into his guard.

Pazur passes Prophet's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Pazur is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Pazur postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Prophet to stand up.
Pazur wants to clinch up but Prophet keeps it at a distance.
Tom Pazur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prophet scores with a decent looking hook.
Pazur shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Prophet sprawls well. Prophet wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pazur gets slowly back to his feet.
Pazur is breathing heavily.
A telegraphed right hand from Prophet misses the target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pazur tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Prophet looking to score a takedown here. Pazur is defending well but Prophet drives through and ends up in Pazur's guard.

Pazur can't keep his opponent in guard - Prophet advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Prophet is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pazur defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mason Prophet will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Pazur shoots for a double leg takedown but Prophet sprawls well. He's pushed Pazur's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Good standup being displayed there by Prophet as he connects with a hook.
A decent looking cross lands there for Prophet.
Pazur fails to land the takedown.
Pazur drops his hands momentarily and Prophet takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Prophet fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Prophet throws a nice looking combination but Pazur bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Pazur steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Prophet.
Pazur fails with an attempt to clinch.

Prophet is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Pazur has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Prophet to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Pazur is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Prophet pulls down on the head and he's put Pazur to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mason Prophet!
Our winner, Mason Prophet, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
