Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Silva.
Silva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gonzalez defends it nicely.
Gonzalez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gonzalez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Silva takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Gonzalez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gonzalez sprawls well. Gonzalez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gonzalez but Gonzalez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Gonzalez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gonzalez wants it to stay on the feet.

Silva feints and as Gonzalez raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gonzalez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Silva defends it easily.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gonzalez misses with a series of wild punches.

Gonzalez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.

Silva moves into range and clinches up with Gonzalez.

Silva gets control of Gonzalez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Silva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva has Gonzalez pulled in close to control his posture.
Gonzalez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gonzalez throws a sloppy head kick

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Gonzalez throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Silva escapes and throws Gonzalez's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The ground and pound from Silva seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
