Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saint Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franklin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Slaughterhouse-WoodStock. Pierre has chosen Where is My Mind as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jake Franklin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Franklin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Saint Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pierre fails with the takedown.
Pierre slips under a jab.
Pierre tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Franklin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Franklin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pierre fails with a takedown attempt.
Franklin shoots and misses
and Pierre counters with a shoot takedown. Franklin fights it but they end up in guard.
Franklin is looking to stand back up but Pierre counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Franklin.
Franklin is pushing Pierre's head away, looking to escape. Pierre manages to hold on to the position though.
Franklin dodges the ground and pound from Pierre.
Franklin tries to escape but Pierre is in control.
Franklin managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Pierre.
Pierre tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pierre has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Pierre is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Franklin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Franklin wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

It looks like Saint Pierre has been cut.
Franklin misses with a looping right.
Pierre uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Franklin.
Pierre blocks a jab.
Pierre tests Franklin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Franklin waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Pierre.

and Pierre counters with a nice body kick.
Franklin is breathing heavily.
Franklin throws a hook but Pierre avoids it easily.

and Pierre counters with a shoot takedown. Franklin fights it but they end up in guard.
Pierre wants to pass the guard but Franklin is keeping the position.

Pierre won't allow Franklin to get back to his feet.

Pierre is looking to work some ground and pound but Franklin has wrist control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pierre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Franklin throws a looping overhand right but Pierre ducks down to avoid it.
Franklin throws a body punch but Pierre moves out of range.
Pierre moves into range and clinches up with Franklin.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pierre breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Both fighters circling a little - Pierre finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Pierre scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pierre winds up and cracks Franklin with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pierre lands strikes from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pierre sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Franklin defending well though.
Franklin kicks Pierre off and gets back to his feet.
Pierre shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pierre was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A jab-cross combination lands for Franklin and sends Pierre crashing to the mat! Franklin follows him down to the mat - Pierre regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Pierre is still in real trouble! Can Franklin finish him?
Franklin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Franklin stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Pierre to get to his feet.
Pierre uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Franklin.
Franklin lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Pierre is looking to close the distance but Franklin sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Pierre crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Pierre is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
