Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mihailescu Mihai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papa Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Papa Jones acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Mihai.
Mihai connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jones's hands.
Mihai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Jones seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Mihai has recovered full guard.
Mihai wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mihai tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mihai to the ground. Mihai escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mihai sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.

Mihai rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jones pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Mihai is trying to push Jones away but Jones has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Mihai has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mihai avoids a wild elbow strike from Jones.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mihai lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jones has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jones and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Mihai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mihai wants it to stay on the feet.

Jones drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones is looking for a kimura but Mihai is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage.
Mihai on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mihai tries to get out of the position.

Jones is taking a breather. Mihai says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mihai is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
