Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Cabrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pablo Cabrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trent Steele!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Cabrera.

Steele gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Steele escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cabrera throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Trent Steele has been cut.
Cabrera swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Steele rushes Cabrera and presses him up against the cage.
Cabrera can't break the clinch.
Steele landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cabrera trying to control the position but instead, Steele has worked for underhooks and has pushed Cabrera into the cage.

Steele jumps into guard, dragging Cabrera to the mat.

Steele looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cabrera is one step ahead there.

Steele escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cabrera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Steele is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Steele works his foot free and advances to mount.

Steele has control of Cabrera's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Cabrera regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cabrera is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

You get the feeling that Cabrera really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Cabrera is trying to stand but he's just given Steele his back.

Steele has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Cabrera has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Steele is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Cabrera defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Steele is riding his opponent, not letting Cabrera buck him off.

Cabrera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steele on the ground.

Cabrera covering up well under a series of strikes from Steele.

Steele somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trent Steele dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Trent Steele's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cabrera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Steele throws a sloppy head kick and Cabrera moves out of range easily.

Cabrera tries to keep at a distance but Steele has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cabrera is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Steele has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cabrera uses from the top position.

Steele pushes Cabrera off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Cabrera tries a head kick but it misses.
Steele avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Steele throws a body kick that misses.
Trent Steele is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Steele misses with a takedown attempt - Cabrera sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Cabrera lands a big head kick that sends Steele tumbling to the mat! Cabrera takes a step backwards and waves Steele back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Cabrera throws a sloppy head kick and Steele moves out of range easily.
Steele shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cabrera sprawls well. Cabrera wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steele gets slowly back to his feet.
Pablo Cabrera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trent Steele.
Steele shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cabrera as he avoids it easily.
Cabrera connects with a right hand. Steele shakes it off.


Steele is rocked!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Cabrera.
Steele is still on wobbly legs! Can Cabrera finish him?
Steele is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Steele gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Cabrera points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Steele wakes up just in time to hear Cabrera thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pablo Cabrera!
Pablo Cabrera decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
