Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rosa Godur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santana Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Godur gets tackled into the cage by Silva. Silva maintains the clinch.

Silva gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Silva is taking a breather. Godur says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Silva has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Godur manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Godur is looking to control Silva's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Godur avoid being mounted?

Silva takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Santana Silva was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Silva is keen to just control but Godur is a slippery customer.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Santana Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Silva counters with a straight right hand.

Godur drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Silva gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Godur. Godur gets slowly back to his feet.
Godur shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Silva enables Godur to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silva manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Santana Silva wasn't active enough on the ground.
Godur misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Godur to the mat! Godur manages to get full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Godur can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Godur drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Godur has Silva in his guard.
Santana Silva is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
