The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fiaoni stuffs the takedown.
Migel Gomes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomes ducks under a wild hook from Fiaoni.
Fiaoni looks to throw the jab but Gomes is out of range.

Fiaoni slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fiaoni is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Fiaoni thuds a left hand into Gomes's body.

Fiaoni feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gomes sprawling to the canvas! Gomes rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Fiaoni finish him?!

Gomes is rocked!

Gomes is trying desperately to land a takedown but Fiaoni is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Gomes.

A punch lands to the side of Gomes 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Fiaoni wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Fiaoni scores with a hook to the body. Gomes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Fiaoni connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Fiaoni cracks Gomes with a right hand to the side of the head.
Fiaoni lands a jab to the nose.
Fiaoni closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Gomes! Fiaoni dives in looking to finish! Gomes is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

In his post fight interview, Angelo Fiaoni started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
