Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Takeya Akazumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirty Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akazumi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Asian Kung-Fu Generation - Haruka Kanata. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dirty Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Akazumi misses with a hook from the clinch.
Akazumi is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sanchez is keeping busy.

Akazumi tries to work over Sanchez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Akazumi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sanchez.
Akazumi takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sanchez looks to throw the jab but Akazumi is out of range.
Sanchez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sanchez works over Akazumi's head and body with a nice combination.

Sanchez scores with an uppercut up the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Sanchez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Akazumi on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Akazumi walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Sanchez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sanchez misses with a few strikes there.
Akazumi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Akazumi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanchez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sanchez lands with an overhand left.
Akazumi looks to land a left hand but Sanchez moved out of range nicely.
Dirty Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanchez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sanchez's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Sanchez duly obliges.
Akazumi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Akazumi shoots in looking for a takedown. Sanchez tries to sprawl out of it but Akazumi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sanchez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takeya Akazumi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Akazumi looks to land a left hand but Sanchez moved out of range nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Horrible takedown by Akazumi or perhaps it was just good defense by Sanchez which made him look bad.

That's time! Akazumi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Akazumi. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sanchez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Akazumi trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Akazumi wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
Akazumi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sanchez lands a decent punch to the body there.

Sanchez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sanchez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Akazumi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sanchez.

Akazumi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sanchez scores with a couple of nice shots.

Sanchez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Akazumi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sanchez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Akazumi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sanchez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Sanchez goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sanchez, as that shot connected.

Akazumi can't find room to land a body shot as Sanchez controls the action.
Sanchez lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Akazumi backwards.

Sanchez manages to break the clinch.
Oh Akazumi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dirty Sanchez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sanchez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Akazumi doesn't seem bothered though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Akazumi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sanchez drops Akazumi with a naaaaasty hook - Akazumi is in real trouble here! Sanchez dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dirty Sanchez! Dirty Sanchez retains his welterweight title!
