Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kido Takayoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arturo Rey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arturo Rey acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kido Takayoshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arturo Rey!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takayoshi shoots in and drives through. Rey sprawls well.
Takayoshi takes a jab right on the kisser.
Rey clobbers Takayoshi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Takayoshi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Takayoshi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Takayoshi looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Rey has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Takayoshi's lack of action.

Takayoshi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Takayoshi content to control rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Takayoshi tries to stand and escape but Rey is controlling the position.
Takayoshi wants to free his trapped foot but Rey is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rey is in trouble now - Takayoshi has advanced to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Takayoshi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rey is looking to escape.
Rey tries to lock up and control but Takayoshi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rey wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Rey tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Takayoshi looking to ground and pound but Rey is blocking nicely.
Rey can't escape the position.
Takayoshi looking to control and managing it successfully.

Takayoshi stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rey throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Rey looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Takayoshi tries for a takedown but Rey sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rey swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rey misses with a jab, cross combination.

Takayoshi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rey prevents Takayoshi from moving into mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Takayoshi wants to control but Rey is keeping him busy.
Takayoshi controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Takayoshi working the ground and pound from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kido Takayoshi dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Takayoshi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Takayoshi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takayoshi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kido Takayoshi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rey rushes Takayoshi and presses him up against the cage.

Rey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jab by Rey.
Takayoshi closes the distance and clinches up with Rey, looking for a takedown. Takayoshi pushes Rey against the cage but Rey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rey misses with a wild combination.
Rey throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Takayoshi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rey circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kido Takayoshi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Rey has taken the fight to the clinch.

Rey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rey stuffs the takedown attempt from Takayoshi. Takayoshi gets slowly back to his feet.

Takayoshi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rey as he jumps to the side.
Rey throws a one two combo.
Rey circles away from the clinch attempt
and Rey counters with a nice uppercut.
Rey tries to clinch there but Takayoshi circles away.
Takayoshi throws a lazy head kick
and Rey counters with a big head kick but Takayoshi shrugs it off.


Takayoshi is rocked!
Takayoshi moves in looking to clinch but Rey pushes him off.
Rey goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Oh Takayoshi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rey swinging wildly here.
Takayoshi tries to clinch but Rey is having none of it.
Rey lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rey.

Rey lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Takayoshi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rey circles away.
An inside leg kick lands from Rey.
Rey lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Takayoshi tries to clinch but Rey moves out of range.
Rey throws a head kick that misses.
Takayoshi has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rey finds it's way round the side to connect with Takayoshi's head.
Arturo Rey seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Takayoshi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rey misses with a wild combination.
No joy there for Rey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Takayoshi seems to have got his legs back now.
Takayoshi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Arturo Rey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takayoshi shoots for a takedown but Rey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Danga de danga de dang - Rey scores with a four punch combination!
Takayoshi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rey as he jumps to the side.
Rey blocks the body kick.
Takayoshi takes one to the chin there.

Rey rushes Takayoshi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Rey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rey misses with a few strikes there.
Rey throws a nice looking combination but Takayoshi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rey is looking to clinch.
Rey feints a jab promting Takayoshi to slip. Rey then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Takayoshi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Takayoshi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rey throws a series of punches but Takayoshi moves out of range.

Rey moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A left and a right from Rey both land. Nice combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rey misses with the combination.
Arturo Rey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Takayoshi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Takayoshi looking to score a takedown here. Rey is defending well but Takayoshi drives through and ends up in Rey's guard.
Takayoshi wants to control from the top but Rey keeps moving.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Arturo Rey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Takayoshi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Rey defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Takayoshi.
Takayoshi finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rey lands a leg kick that knocks Takayoshi off balance momentarily.
Takayoshi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rey sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Rey tries to bum rush Takayoshi with a series of wild strikes but Takayoshi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Takayoshi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rey sprawls well. Rey wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Takayoshi gets slowly back to his feet.

Takayoshi takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Takayoshi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rey.
Rey throws a nice looking combination but Takayoshi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Takayoshi takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Good shot there by Rey.
Rey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rey throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Takayoshi counters with a left to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Rey. Those never looked like landing.
Rey connects with a looping right hand.

Takayoshi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rey manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Takayoshi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rey swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Rey makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Takayoshi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Takayoshi takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Rey works over Takayoshi's head and body with a nice combination.

Rey stuffs the takedown.

Rey looks to land a combination but Takayoshi avoids it well.
Takayoshi throws a body punch but Rey moves out of range.
Takayoshi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
No joy there for Rey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Takayoshi moves to clinch but Rey breaks away
and Rey counters with a series of strikes. Takayoshi will be more careful next time no doubt.

Rey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Takayoshi closes the distance and clinches up with Rey, looking for a takedown. Takayoshi pushes Rey against the cage but Rey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Takayoshi is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Rey is keeping busy.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rey digs a good body shot into Takayoshi's ribs.

And that's the end of the fight!
Arturo Rey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Rey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
