The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Tretiak is looking for a sweep.

Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tretiak is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tretiak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tretiak is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Silva's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Tretiak tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Tretiak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silva is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Tretiak sprawls well.

Tretiak fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Tretiak persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tretiak lands strikes from half guard.

Silva tries to get to full guard but Tretiak has control of the leg.
Tretiak trying to mount his opponent but Silva defends it.
Silva slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Silva wants to hit a switch here but Tretiak passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Silva there!
Silva is squirming around, avoiding Tretiak's attempts to control the action.
Tretiak pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Tretiak postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Silva looks a forlorn figure.

Tretiak looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Silva tries to hold on but Tretiak postures up.

A nice elbow there by Tretiak.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva wants to hold on but Tretiak pushes him away.
Silva's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Silva looks gassed!
Silva is looking to improve his position but Tretiak isn't that keen on the idea.

Tretiak goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Silva is on top in guard.

Tretiak is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Silva frees his head nicely. Oh but Tretiak has switched to an armbar! Silva is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
