Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Randall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Col. John T. Hall!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Randall shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hall's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hall looking for a sweep. Not yet Hall, not yet.
Hall trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Randall sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hall throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Randall gets to his feet. Hall looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Randall fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hall doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Randall counters with a left to the body.
Hall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Randall is fending him off so far but Hall persists. Nope, Randall circles away and we're back to standing.
Hall shoots in but no luck this time.
Randy Randall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Col. John T. Hall.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Randall swats away the attempt to clinch by Hall.

Randall forces Hall back against the cage and clinches.

Hall pulls guard successfully.
Randall has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hall is proving hard to escape from.
Hall will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Randall trying to control but Hall is working from the bottom.
Randall looking to pass the guard.
Hall doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Hall trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Hall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Randall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Randall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hall is looking for a triangle here but Randall uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Randall decides to stand back up. Randall steps back and let's Hall get back to his feet.

Randall is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Randall clinches up with Hall and pushes him back against the cage.

Randall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Randall chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Hall is looking to clinch but Randall is avoiding it.

Randall looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Randall tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Hall.
Hall is staying active underneath Randall, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hall is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Randall pulls his head out easily.
Hall misses with some strikes from the bottom.
It looks like Randall is going to stand back up.

Hall flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Randall tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Randall seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hall does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Randy Randall just wasn't active enough.

Randall slaps away a takedown attempt from Hall, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Randall moves into the clinch.

Hall can't get the takedown.

Randall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Randall tries to clinch but Hall is having none of it.

Hall misses with a punch to the body.
Hall tries to throw a body punch but Randall avoids it by throwing Hall back against the cage.
Hall tries to pull guard but Randall forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Randall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Randall swats away the attempt to clinch by Hall.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
An inside leg kick lands from Randall.
Hall tries to close the distance and clinch up but Randall swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A big right from Hall misses.

Randall closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hall quickly recovers to half guard.
Randall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Randall passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hall!
Randy Randall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Randall get's back to his feet.
Randall tries a head kick but it misses.
Hall scores with a jab to the jaw.

Hall clinches up with Randall and pushes him back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hall is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Randall is defending well.
Hall drops down looking for an ankle pick but Randall pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hall fails with a takedown attempt.
Randy Randall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Col. John T. Hall.
Hall dives in and grabs Randall's left leg, looking for a takedown. Randall pushes down on Hall's head and hops out.

Randall closes the distance and clinches.
Randall gets underhooks to prevent Hall's takedown attempt.
Hall has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Randall after a bit of a struggle.
Hall is breathing heavily.
Hall can't break the clinch.
Hall changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Randall fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hall misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Randall moves into the clinch.
Hall tries for a takedown but Randall manages to get underhooks.
Hall is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Randall gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Randall connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Randall tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Randall as he jumps to the side.

Randall darts in and clinches Hall up against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Hall is trying to pull guard but Randall has him pressed against the cage.
Randall lands a left hand.
Randall stops a takedown attempt from Hall.
Hall tries to throw a body punch but Randall avoids it by throwing Hall back against the cage.
Hall struggles to land a body shot inside as Randall controls his hands.

Randall breaks the clinch.

Hall takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Nice cross by Randall.
Randy Randall is winning the standup battle so far.
Randall connects with an inside leg kick.

Randall has taken the fight to the clinch.

The referee is keeping an eye on Randall - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Randall creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Randall for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Hall goes for a takedown attempt but Randall pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Randall wants to control from the top but Hall keeps moving.

Hall drives through with a takedown into Randall's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Hall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Randall but Randall pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Randall has closed the distance and engaged Hall in a clinch.
Hall is trying to pull guard but Randall turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Hall drags the fight down to the ground.

Hall looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Hall throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Randall escapes and throws Hall's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Randall decides to stand back up.
Randall wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Randall connects with a body shot that sends Hall's belly button to the back.
Col. John T. Hall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Randall scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Randall stands up and beckons Hall to his feet.

Randall moves into range and clinches up with Hall.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Randall.
Randall stalling in the clinch.
A short left from Randall.
Randall lands with a short shot to the head.
Randall slows down the pace here.
Hall has Randall pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Randall manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Hall tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Randall smiles and moves away.

Hall drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Randall regains half guard.
Randall holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Randall pushes Hall off looking to stand but Hall dives back in and keeps control.

Randall makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Randall lands a jab to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Randall is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hall's half guard.
Randall perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Hall looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Randall escapes and gets back to his feet.

Randall shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hall manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Randall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hall swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Randall wants to control from the top but Hall keeps moving.
Randall stands and throws Hall's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Randall is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hall can do to turn this around?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hall manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Randy Randall is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fighters are battling for position here. Randall manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
