Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Igor Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Farfas Waza!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet.
Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Waza.
Waza keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Silva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Waza on his heels. He'll look to pass Waza's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silva dives in and grabs Waza's left leg, looking for a takedown. Waza pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.
Waza shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Horrible takedown by Waza or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Igor Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Farfas Waza.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Igor Silva.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Waza wants to free his trapped foot but Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Still in half guard, Silva seems content to control.
Silva's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Waza is breathing heavily.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Igor Silva just wasn't active enough.

Silva fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Waza to the ground. Silva is now in Waza's guard.

Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Waza for as long as he can get away with.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Waza takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
You can see the frustration on Waza's face as Silva controls the position.

Silva throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Waza was covering up waiting for the punch and Silva finishes the takedown easily into guard.
