PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josef Dietrich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Ferrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ferrall has chosen Pantera's Domination as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Scott Ferrall has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Josef Dietrich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Ferrall!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferrall tries to keep at a distance but Dietrich has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dietrich tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ferrall is trying to stall.
A head punch on the inside from Dietrich fails to land.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dietrich creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Dietrich.
Ferrall stalling.
Dietrich tries to stall but Ferrall uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Dietrich has Ferrall pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dietrich pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ferrall tumbling to the mat - Dietrich dives into Ferrall's guard.

Ferrall isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dietrich stacks Ferrall on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dietrich!
Dietrich creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ferrall sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Dietrich creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dietrich tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Dietrich has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dietrich tries for a kimura but Ferrall is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ferrall is looking to reverse the position.
Ferrall takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Dietrich tries to advance to mount but Ferrall denies him.
Dietrich lands some shots froms side control.
Dietrich in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Ferrall is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Ferrall tries to buck Dietrich off but Dietrich is having none of it.
Ferrall pushes Dietrich away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dietrich gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Ferrall is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dietrich landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Ferrall is looking for a sweep.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ferrall is not content to let Dietrich control the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ferrall is looking for a sweep.
The strikes coming from Dietrich are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Ferrall is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Dietrich wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ferrall, who protects the arm well.
Dietrich gets to mount! Ferrall was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Ferrall is working to get back to half guard.

Dietrich can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ferrall is looking to escape.
Dietrich lands a nice shot to the head.
Ferrall is desperately trying to improve his position but Dietrich has a good base and remains in mount.
Ferrall tries to hold on but Dietrich postures up.
Ferrall is desperately trying to improve his position but Dietrich has a good base and remains in mount.
Dietrich looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Ferrall covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
