And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oj Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Puffer.
Puffer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Puffer tries a low kick but Simpson avoids it.

Puffer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Simpson misses with an elbow strike.
Puffer misses with a knee strike.
Puffer missing with knees to the body.
Simpson landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Simpson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Puffer with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Puffer blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

It looks like Brian Puffer has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Puffer throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Simpson blocks it with crossed arms.
Puffer with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Simpson can't find room to land a body shot as Puffer controls the action.

Simpson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Puffer pivots, looking for a leg kick but Simpson is out of range and Puffer settles back down.
Puffer gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Brian Puffer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Puffer throws a head kick but Simpson moves out of range.
Good shot there by Simpson.
Simpson blocks a head kick by Puffer.
Puffer throws a sloppy head kick and Simpson moves out of range easily.
Puffer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Simpson rushes Puffer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Simpson misses with a body punch.

Puffer blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A left hand lands to the body for Simpson.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Puffer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Puffer throws a head kick that Simpson semi-blocks.
Simpson misses with a straight right.
Simpson cracks Puffer with a good jab.
Puffer throws a sloppy head kick and Simpson moves out of range easily.

Simpson moves into the clinch.
Puffer using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Simpson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Simpson lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Puffer wants to break the clinch but can't.

Puffer manages to break the clinch.
A head kick misses from Puffer.
Puffer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Puffer slips a jab from Simpson.

Simpson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Puffer was covering up waiting for the punch and Simpson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Simpson stands up over Puffer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Puffer wants to improve his position but instead Simpson has moved into half guard.
Simpson passes the guard and advances to mount!
Puffer is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Simpson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


Puffer is rocked!
A big strike lands for Simpson! That's really hurt Puffer and he's turned his back - Simpson keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Simpson jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oj Simpson!
Oj Simpson seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
