Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Woolfolk!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Jones!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jones tries to pass the half guard into mount. Woolfolk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Woolfolk is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Woolfolk makes his way to full guard, as Jones worked for a kimura.
Woolfolk looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Jones makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Woolfolk on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Woolfolk tries to get out of the position.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Woolfolk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Woolfolk bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

Jones is looking for a triangle but Woolfolk pushes his legs off easily.

Woolfolk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Woolfolk has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.
Woolfolk is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Woolfolk from controlling successfully.
Woolfolk postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Jones looking to control.
Woolfolk looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Woolfolk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Woolfolk is controlling Jones's posture.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Woolfolk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones throws an elbow that misses. Woolfolk uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jones's guard. Nice move by Woolfolk!

Jones working for a triangle but Woolfolk defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woolfolk passes Jones's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Woolfolk is working for a submission of some sort.
Woolfolk wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
Jones trying to control from the bottom.
Jones is looking for a sweep. Woolfolk is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Woolfolk seems to be looking for submissions.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard.

Woolfolk thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Jones is not content to let Woolfolk control the position.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
Woolfolk is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones is looking for a sweep. Woolfolk is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Woolfolk is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Woolfolk has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Woolfolk will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Jones drives through with a takedown into Woolfolk's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Woolfolk is keeping the position for now.
Woolfolk is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Joe Woolfolk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joe Woolfolk.
Woolfolk tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Woolfolk somewhat.
Woolfolk tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Woolfolk's guard.
Woolfolk looking for a sweep. Not yet Woolfolk, not yet.
Woolfolk working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jones.

Jones has gone for a leg lock! Woolfolk slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard.

Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Woolfolk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Woolfolk wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Woolfolk is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Woolfolk lands a couple of elbows.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Woolfolk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Woolfolk landing some decent shots from guard.

Jones looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Woolfolk passes into side control.

Woolfolk has hold of Jones's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Jones tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Woolfolk cranks the arm and Jones screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jones, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Joe Woolfolk!
