Ciccarelli swats away the attempt to clinch by Merquez.
Merquez throws a quick inside leg kick.
Ciccarelli throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Merquez sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Merquez looks to land a combination but Ciccarelli avoids it well.

Merquez throws a hook but Ciccarelli avoids it easily.
Merquez moves into range and connects with a jab.

and Ciccarelli counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Merquez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ciccarelli's waist but Ciccarelli gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Merquez off to one side.

Ciccarelli fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Merquez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Ciccarelli takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Ciccarelli looks to score with a jab to the body but Merquez is just out of range.
Merquez throws a head kick that misses.
Ciccarelli digs a good hook to Merquez's body.

A clash of legs there as Merquez blocks the low kick.
Merquez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ciccarelli moves away.

Ciccarelli darts in and clinches Merquez up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ciccarelli tries to throw a body punch but Merquez avoids it by throwing Ciccarelli back against the cage.
Merquez tries a body shot but Ciccarelli blocks it.
Ciccarelli lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Ciccarelli lands a hook that snaps the head of Merquez backwards.
Ciccarelli escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Merquez doesn't manage to clinch there - Ciccarelli circles away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Merquez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Ciccarelli parries the strikes from Merquez easily there. Merquez is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ciccarelli to escape.
Merquez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Merquez moves in looking to clinch but Ciccarelli pushes him off.

That has opened up Felix Merquez's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Merquez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ciccarelli pushes Merquez away with a front kick.
Ciccarelli throws a hook to the side of Merquez's head but Merquez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dino Ciccarelli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ciccarelli misses with a straight left.

Merquez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Merquez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ciccarelli.
Merquez looks to score with a jab to the body but Ciccarelli is just out of range.
Merquez takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Merquez is breathing heavily.
Ciccarelli's jab looks to have found its range, popping Merquez under the eye.
Merquez avoids the head kick by Ciccarelli.
Merquez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Merquez there as he acknowledges the shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ciccarelli lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ciccarelli drops Merquez with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Merquez looks back up at him and smiles so Ciccarelli waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Merquez is rocked!
The cut above Felix Merquez's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
A shot to the liver by Ciccarelli. Beautiful body shot.
Merquez is still on wobbly legs! Can Ciccarelli finish him?
Merquez switches off momentarily and Ciccarelli cracks him with a monster right hand! Merquez topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Ciccarelli dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Ciccarelli!
