Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tito Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheng Jen Kuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ortiz comes into the arena with Break Stuff blaring out of the sound system. Tito Ortiz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tito Ortiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sheng Jen Kuo!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuo throws the left hand but Ortiz avoids the punch easily.
Kuo scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Tito Ortiz has been cut.
Kuo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ortiz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kuo looks to throw the jab but Ortiz is out of range.
Kuo cracks Ortiz with a right hand to the side of the head.
Kuo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ortiz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kuo avoids it really well and circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kuo stuffs the takedown attempt from Ortiz. Ortiz gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tito Ortiz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kuo looks to land a left hand but Ortiz moved out of range nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ortiz slips a straight right by Kuo.
Ortiz shoots in for a takedown but Kuo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ortiz walks into a straight right hand from Kuo.
Ortiz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ortiz fails with a takedown attempt.
Ortiz is breathing heavily.
Ortiz shoots in looking for a takedown but Kuo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ortiz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kuo misses with a series of wild punches.
Kuo connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ortiz's hands.
Kuo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A slow jab from Kuo misses its intended target.
Ortiz avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nice takedown defense from Kuo. No joy for Ortiz on that attempt.
Ortiz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kuo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kuo tries to close the distance and clinch but Ortiz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kuo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kuo wants it to stay on the feet.
Kuo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ortiz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kuo misses the jab.

Sheng Jen Kuo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kuo tries to clinch but Ortiz is having none of it.

Kuo waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Ortiz. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Ortiz to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


Ortiz is rocked!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kuo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Oh Ortiz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ortiz has a closed guard, preventing Kuo from standing up.
Ortiz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kuo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ortiz, up you get!
Ortiz leaves his chin hanging out and Kuo seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Ortiz crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sheng Jen Kuo!
