PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson has chosen Dark Tranquillity - Lethe as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Tyson.
Moon cracks a nice hook into Tyson's ribs.
Tyson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Moon.
Moon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Tyson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Moon scrambles back to his feet.
Moon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Moon wants it to stay on the feet.
Moon takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Moon on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Tyson misses with a right hand
and Moon counters with a left to the body.
Tyson throws a front kick aimed at Moon's knee but Moon avoids it well.
Moon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tyson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Moon tests Tyson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Tyson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Moon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tyson somewhat.

Jackie Moon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Tyson.

Moon instigates a clinch.
Moon takes a shot to the head.
A bit of stalling here from Moon.
Tyson is stalling here.
Moon wants to take the fight to the mat but Tyson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Moon lands a hook that snaps the head of Tyson backwards.

Tyson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Moon regains guard immediately.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Moon wants to sweep here but Tyson controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Moon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tyson is taking a breather. Moon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Moon wants to control but Tyson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Tyson working over Moon with some ground and pound. Moon looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Moon is staying active underneath Tyson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Moon is looking to control Tyson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Moon avoid being mounted?
Moon is looking for a sweep. Tyson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Tyson shoots in looking for a takedown. Moon tries to sprawl out of it but Tyson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Moon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tyson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Moon moves out of range as Tyson throws a body kick.
Moon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Moon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Moon scores with a hook to the body. Tyson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Tyson's corner calls for a 1-2. Tyson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Moon shoots for a double leg takedown but Tyson sprawls well. He's pushed Moon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Moon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tyson avoids it really well and circles away.

Moon comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Moon throws a leg kick but Tyson sees it coming and moves out of range.

Moon pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Tyson back to the cage. Moon follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Moon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tyson's guard.
Moon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tyson's guard.
Tyson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Moon is working away from the top position though.
Moon wants to stand up but Tyson has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Tyson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Tyson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Still in half guard, Tyson seems content to control.
Moon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tyson is working away from the top position though.

Tyson uses his free foot to push down on Moon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Moon.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Tyson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Moon should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Tyson has tightened it up now! Moon should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
