Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yap Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Millar might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Never Say Die. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Millar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yap Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor gets a clinch.
Millar is trying to break the clinch but Taylor is controlling him.
Millar is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Taylor to keep the fight standing.
Taylor scores with a hook to the body.
Millar unloads a knee to the mid-section.
A short right from Taylor on the inside.
Millar trying to control the position but instead, Taylor has worked for underhooks and has pushed Millar into the cage.
Millar drops down looking for an ankle pick but Taylor pulls his leg out and moves away.
Millar tries for a takedown but Taylor circles away easily

and Taylor counters with a single leg into guard. Millar didn't expect that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Millar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Taylor controls from within his opponent's guard.

Let's hope that Taylor has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Yap Taylor.

Taylor is pushing down on Millar's leg trying to pass to half guard. Millar is fighting to maintain full guard but Taylor has managed to sneak the leg through.

Taylor is controlling the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Taylor shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Taylor tries to pass the half guard into mount. Millar knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Taylor is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Millar is wriggling around trying to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Taylor shoots in but no luck this time.
Millar tries for a takedown but Taylor circles away easily

and Taylor holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Millar drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Taylor gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Millar is trying to force a seperation but Taylor has the dominant position.
Millar misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Taylor.
Come on Taylor - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Millar tries a knee to the head but Taylor blocks it.

Taylor drags the fight down to the ground.

Taylor has his hands on Millar's head, controlling the position.
Millar trying to stand up but can't free himself from Taylor's guard.
Taylor being controlled here, momentarily.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Taylor wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Michael Millar has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Taylor rushes Millar and presses him up against the cage.

Taylor gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Taylor is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Taylor is pushing down on Millar's leg trying to pass to half guard. Millar is fighting to maintain full guard but Taylor has managed to sneak the leg through.

Taylor keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Yap Taylor wasn't active enough on the ground.
Taylor checks a low kick from Millar.
Taylor misses with a takedown attempt - Millar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Taylor looks to land a body kick but Millar moved away.

Taylor closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Millar's guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Taylor in particular looking to stall.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yap Taylor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Taylor darts in and clinches Millar up against the cage.
Millar looking to slow down the pace here.

Taylor is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Millar can't fight it off and eventually Taylor manages to take the fight to the floor. Millar looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Taylor drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Millar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Taylor has Millar in his guard.
Taylor is controlling Millar's posture.

Millar wants to stand but Taylor is controlling his posture from full guard.
Millar trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Taylor managing to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Michael Millar just wasn't active enough.

Taylor instigates a clinch.
Millar goes for a takedown in the clinch but Taylor prevents it.
A short uppercut from Taylor.

Millar is fighting off a takedown attempt but Taylor is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Millar to the mat. Millar regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Millar wants to get back to his feet but Taylor passes into half guard.
Taylor is pressing down on Millar's thigh, looking to free his foot. Millar is holding on for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Taylor slows the pace down in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Millar wants to control the action here but instead Taylor manages to pass to full mount!
Taylor tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Millar tries to lock up and control but Taylor gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Yap Taylor comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Taylor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.
