Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Frederick!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Frederick tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sanchez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Frederick regains half guard.
Sanchez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sanchez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Frederick is trying to get back to full guard.
Frederick is looking to get back to full guard here but Sanchez has managed to pass to side control instead.
Frederick is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Frederick is looking to get to half guard.
Frederick looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Frederick trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
A lull in the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sanchez is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Frederick can't escape the position.

Frederick defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Sanchez's arms.
Frederick is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sanchez trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Frederick doesn't escape.
Frederick looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frederick breaks Sanchez's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Sanchez is breathing heavily.

Sanchez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Frederick trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Frederick passes into half guard.
Frederick tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Sanchez.
Sanchez trying to control but Frederick postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Frederick in particular looking to stall.
I looks like Frederick might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Frederick is working for a kimura but Sanchez is defending it quite comfortably.
Sanchez is pressing down on Frederick's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Sanchez keeping moving, preventing Frederick from controlling successfully.
Sanchez pulls Frederick in close to prevent any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pedro Sanchez dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Sanchez feints and as Frederick raises his hands in defense, Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sanchez tries to stand but Frederick is controlling from the bottom.
Frederick is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sanchez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Sanchez is sitting in close to Frederick's body. Frederick has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Sanchez is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Sanchez is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Frederick.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Matt Frederick!
