Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brenen Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Fender (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Phillips might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Am I A Psycho. Phillips has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Dave Fender told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fender clinches with his opponent.
Fender breaks from the clinch.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Fender.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Fender wants to control but Phillips is keeping him busy.
Phillips tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Fender decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Phillips avoids the head kick by Fender.
Phillips misses with a takedown
and Fender counters by moving into the clinch.
Phillips is breathing heavily.
Fender's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Phillips has his takedown stuffed
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
That kick from Fender tenderised Phillips's leg. Phillips is trying to keep his angry face on.

Fender gets the takedown into side control.
Fender wants to stand but Phillips has his arm trapped.
Phillips on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Fender remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Phillips takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Fender lands a few punches from side control.
Phillips is not content to let Fender control the position.
Fender decides to stand back up. Fender steps back and let's Phillips get back to his feet.
Phillips tries to keep at a distance but Fender has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fender gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Fender escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fender throws a right and a left that Phillips avoids nicely.
Fender closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Phillips's guard.
Fender sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Phillips's guard.
Phillips really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fender stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Phillips to get to his feet.
Phillips wants to clinch but Fender slips to the side
and Fender counters with a shoot takedown. Phillips fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Phillips is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Fender rolls with it to try and escape but Phillips cranks on the arm and Fender is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Brenen Phillips spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
