Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alec Jaquillard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Koike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koike shoots and misses

and Jaquillard counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Koike really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jaquillard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jaquillard wants to finish this one by submission but Koike is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jaquillard.

Jaquillard cracks Koike with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jaquillard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jaquillard cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Jaquillard is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Koike can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jaquillard has control of Koike's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Koike regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koike tries to lock up and control but Jaquillard gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Jaquillard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jaquillard is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Koike has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Koike!

Koike is posturing up here but Jaquillard has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Koike tries to roll out but it's too tight and Koike has to tap! Slick submission there by Jaquillard!
