Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Vegata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vegata looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.
Vegata shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Vegata swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vegata rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Vegata scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Vegata is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vegata to get the leverage.

Johnson is looking for a sweep. Vegata is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Vegata winds up and cracks Johnson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Vegata is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Johnson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Johnson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
