Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lobsta Mang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes into the arena with Lacuna Coil - Without Fear blaring out of the sound system. Mang is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: B.O.B.. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Curtis Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lobsta Mang!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Mang.
Mang misses with an uppercut. Jones saw that one coming.
Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Mang tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones wants to clinch up but Mang keeps it at a distance.
Jones throws a head kick but Mang moves out of range.

Mang feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Mang changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mang trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mang looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Mang looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Jones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jones wanted to stand there but Mang had control of the position.

Mang has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage.
Jones is looking to stand up but Mang won't let him.
Jones passes into half guard.
Mang is controlling Jones's trapped leg to prevent Jones from advancing to side control.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Mang is defending well.
Jones wants to take a breather but Mang is having none of it.

Jones is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mang wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.

Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jones is thwarting Mang's attempts to control the position.
Mang is trying to get back to full guard.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mang is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.
Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Mang is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mang is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mang is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard.
Mang slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Mang is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mang lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones!

Mang is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jones has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jones!
Jones engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Mang looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jones wants to control from the top but Mang keeps moving.
Mang looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Curtis Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jones blocks a jab.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Jones is looking to clinch but Mang is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lobsta Mang will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jones misses with a straight right.
Jones uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mang has time to react.
Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mang takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mang. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mang shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jones throws a hook to the side of Mang's head but Mang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jones misses the shot to the body.

Mang shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jones trying to control but Mang postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mang lands with a punch from half guard.

Jones has one foot on Mang's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Mang shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mang's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mang scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Jones fails to land the takedown.
Mang throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Mang stalling.
Jones lands with a light punch inside.
A right hand to the body from Mang.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mang throws a head punch that misses.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Mang.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mang escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mang feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mang controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mang won't allow Jones to sweep him here.
Mang working some strikes from top position.
Mang trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Mang trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Mang is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jones is wriggling around but Mang manages to pass to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mang wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mang connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
Mang is looking to stall here but Jones recovers full guard.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Mang from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mang advances position into side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mang off and has taken his back!

Jones is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mang defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Mang wants to control his opponent's hands but Jones gets his hands free.

Jones is working for a rear naked choke. Mang is not defending it well and Jones has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Mang refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Mang's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Curtis Jones!
