Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Calle Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Mackey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida comes to the cage accompanied by Hate to say I told you so. Calle Machida could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Thomas Mackey's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mackey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mackey is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Mackey advances to half guard.
Mackey trying to mount his opponent but Machida defends it.

Mackey looking for a submission but Machida manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

Mackey postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Machida is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mackey, into his guard.

Mackey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Machida can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Machida tries to pass to full mount but Mackey defends it.

Machida looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mackey manages to get to full guard.
Mackey bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Machida's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Machida can't keep his opponent in guard - Mackey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mackey is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Machida!

Mackey moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Machida has worked his arm free - good work by Machida!
Machida is looking to regain half guard here but Mackey keeps moving and retains side control.
