Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Rewell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ash Thomas Jr!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas Jr shoots in and drives through. Rewell sprawls well.
A low kick from Rewell is predictable there

and Thomas Jr counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Thomas Jr.
Thomas Jr throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Rewell misses with a short punch on the inside.
Rewell tries to stall but Thomas Jr uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Rewell manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Thomas Jr dodges an elbow strike from Rewell.
Rewell tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Thomas Jr's elbow.
Rewell effectively controlling the action here.
Thomas Jr is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rewell to keep the fight standing.

Rewell can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Come on Rewell - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Thomas Jr is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rewell is defending well.
Alexander Rewell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ash Thomas Jr.
Rewell tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Thomas Jr's elbow.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Rewell for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alexander Rewell.

Rewell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thomas Jr.

Thomas Jr shoots in looking for a takedown but Rewell manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thomas Jr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Rewell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thomas Jrs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Thomas Jr takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Rewell thuds his right hand into Thomas Jr's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
That kick from Rewell tenderised Thomas Jr's leg. Thomas Jr is trying to keep his angry face on.
Rewell scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thomas Jr chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rewell can pounce on him.

Rewell moves into the clinch successfully.
Thomas Jr blocks an uppercut.
Rewell is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Rewell seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rewell.

Rewell lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Rewell scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Rewell misses with a body punch.
Rewell holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Rewell lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Rewell scores with a nice hook to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rewell lands a left hand that snaps the head of Thomas Jr backwards.
Rewell fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Rewell lands a right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Rewell dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rewell lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Thomas Jr has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Thomas Jr and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Rewell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A jab from Rewell finds it's way through Thomas Jr's defenses.
Thomas Jr misses with a takedown attempt - Rewell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Thomas Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rewell sprawls well. Rewell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thomas Jr gets slowly back to his feet.
Alexander Rewell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ash Thomas Jr.
Thomas Jr shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rewell as he jumps to the side.
Rewell lands a nice leg kick that just misses Thomas Jr's sensitive parts.
Thomas Jr needs to keep his hands up - Rewell had a free shot at his head there.
Thomas Jr is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rewell is looking to score with low kicks.
Rewell lands with a hook. Thomas Jr tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Ash Thomas Jr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rewell throws a monster overhand right that drops Thomas Jr! Rewell follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
