The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vinicius fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saroa sprawls well initially but Vinicius persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Saroa is trying to stand up here but Vinicius is controlling him well.

Saroa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Saroa lands a huge takedown. Vinicius is out but the ref is slow to react and Saroa lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Vinicius lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Gaspar Saroa was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
