Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Paterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hurba Derba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paterson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Guerilla Radio by Rage Against The Machine. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Derba tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Paterson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Derba leaves Paterson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Paterson looks to land a left hand but Derba moved out of range nicely.

The fighters circling - Paterson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Derba throws a looping overhand right but Paterson ducks down to avoid it.
Paterson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Derba swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Derba will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Derba stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Derba cracks Paterson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Derba tries to land a front kick but Paterson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Paterson is looking to clinch but Derba is avoiding it.

and Paterson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Derba's guard.

Paterson drops back looking for a leg! Derba is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Derba manages to kick Paterson off! Paterson jumps back into Derba's guard.
Paterson wants to control from the top but Derba keeps moving.
Derba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Paterson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Derba slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Derba throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Paterson on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Paterson uses his free foot to push down on Derba's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Derba.

Paterson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Paterson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Derba looks calm but he's in trouble here. Paterson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Derba is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Paterson lets go of the hold and Derba can pop his arm back in it's socket.

David Paterson opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
